Today the Helping Hands group planned a trip to Sapa to visit the San So Ho primary school. The purpose of this trip is to develop a relationship with the students and the teachers of the school and find out what they need most and to help them achieve this. This proposed trip will be from the 31st of October to the 3rd of November. The Helping Hands group will engage in fundraising activities to cover the costs of the trip.
Objectives of Trip:
1. To work towards successfully achieving the group's annual goals.
2. To research possible uses for the $2000 budget. School visit.
3. To make contact with local businesses/craftsmen etc. regarding the decided
project.
4. To research into other schools or charities with whom we could collaborate.
5. To collate information/photos/footage to create a Helping Hands display within UNIS for promotion of our efforts and fundraising.
6. To investigate what could the GD10 students take back to the school from
UNIS.
Outcomes from Trip:
1. Direction from the school regarding spending/use of $2000
2. Make contact with local people with whom we can collaborate
3. Visit alternative Schools/charitable organizations
4. Record information for display in UNIS to promote awareness of Helping Hands and aid fundraising
5. Return with ideas for activities/resources for GD10 trip to Sapa
Indicators:
1. $2000 put toward a project that will have long lasting effects on the
conditions/capacity of the school in Sapa to improve autonomously.
2. The group will have contacts in Sapa through which projects can be implemented and monitored.
3. Meeting held with GD10 level planning group regarding the GD trip to Sapa
